While the Christmas season can be a busy time, it can also bring opportunities for stillness.  Read the ancient story of Simeon and Anna, as they perceive God’s promise fulfilled in the child presented to them.  May that same promise help you find stillness as this year comes to a close.

This weekly email comes from your St Andrew's Church family, a family that "seeks to celebrate God's presence through people, worship, music and outreach."  This is our new, proposed mission statement.  Does it resonate with you?  Let us know!  We will be looking at the proposed mission, vision and values statements more in the new year.  Be sure to check them out on-line at www.standrewschatham.org, along with many other announcements.

This Sunday morning at 10.30am, we gather for worship on Christmas Sunday.   Doreen Hewitson will present a Reader’s Theatre “What’s the Word”.  Pianist Mary Haden will offer her music gifts.

Sunday, January 4 we welcome Rev. Meg Runhart to our pulpit who will speak to us on the gifts of Epiphany, in particular, the gift of light.

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED:
We are in need of volunteers to host fellowship coffee hour after worship on Sundays.  Please contact Joyce Hobbs for further details.

2008 ANNUAL REPORT:
Submissions for the Annual Report are due January 23rd.  If you are the chair of a committee, please submit your report to the church office ASAP.

2009 OFFERING ENVELOPES:

ACTIVITIES:
Finally, many of the regular groups and activities of the church resume early January.  Be sure to look at the January 2009 calendar posted on the website, or pick one up this coming Sunday in your worship bulletin.
