Music
and Arts
St. Andrew’s is fortunate to have several choirs which represent all ages within the congregation.
The Senior Choir has about 30 active members, many who have shared their musical talents with the church for years. Any adult church member who wishes to express their faith through music is welcome to participate. Regular
practices are held every week.
The Junior Choir consists of 10 members, who perform on a regular basis during Sunday services. Any youth, aged kindergarten to Grade 8 are welcome to participate in the choir which
practices weekly.
Accompanying both choirs is a 3 manual Casavant pipe organ, (see specifications page) 7 foot Yamaha concert grand piano, Kawai grand piano which can be found in the chapel, and a Clavinova in the parlour.
On special occasions the congregation is treated to performances from one of two
hand bell choirs. The Senior hand bell choir is open to any person in Grade 9 or older while the Junior
hand bell choir is made up of members from Grades 4 to 8. These choirs consist of four octaves plus two bells.
The St. Andrew's Spirit Singers is a singing group which focuses on a more contemporary style of singing. We love a capella singing which brings the voices together in a close and united way. Come join us for weekly practices to laugh and learn.
The church is also visited by local soloists throughout the year who share their musical gifts with all of us.
Special thanks goes out to the director of the choir and music as well as the hand bell director. Without their talent to teach we wouldn't be able to bring such beautiful songs to Gods teachings.
