CONCERTS AT ST. ANDREW'S
WHAT IS SATURDAYS AT 7?
Since 2013, Saturdays at 7 has been showcasing local, regional, and international talent in a variety of styles from classical to jazz and everything in between. From celtic reels to musical theatre ballads, from African- American spirituals to Christmas carols from around the world, the universal language of music is alive and well inside the walls of the historic sanctuary of St. Andrew’s.
What began on a hot June evening with a single concert has successfully evolved into a community gem for all of Chatham-Kent. Saturdays at 7 has presented over fifty concerts, showcased hundreds of performers of all ages and abilities, and has been supported by over 17,000 patrons from Chatham-Kent and beyond.
At each concert, a free-will offering is taken up at each concert with a suggested donation of $15.00. Each of the concerts feature local, national, and international talent in a variety of musical genres.
CELEBRATING 10 YEARS
Ten years of concert has been no easy task. This would not be possible without the support of both past and present members of the Performing Arts Committee. Since the beginning they have believed in a vision for Saturdays at 7, to create an accessible performing arts series for everyone. On top of the PAC Committee, a huge thank you goes out to the countless volunteers who put up posters around town, folded programs, ushered, provided refreshments, ran tech, and so much more. It takes a village, and I want to thank each person in this community who had a part in its success.
Lastly, we would like to thank the patrons. From that hot June evening onward, you have come out to support these concerts and given the encouragement to continue. We hope you enjoy the next ten years as much as you did the first ten.
YOUR DONATIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The vision of Saturdays at 7 has always been to "create an accessible performing arts series for everyone. This series operates on donations alone.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your donations, as well as your ongoing support. We are proud of what we have been able to contribute to the arts community in Chatham-Kent and look forward to continuing that in the future.
When you make a donation at a Saturdays at 7 concert, you may ask yourself what that money goes towards.
