Chatham-Kent runs rich with musical talent, so it seems only fitting for the first concert of the season to showcase some stellar local talent - tenor style. While these 3 tenors may not include Pavarotti, local tenors Andrew Derynck, Colin Bell and Xander Bechard certainly know how to captivate an audience. Featuring solos, duets and trios of many genres, Chatham’s Three Tenors will be an unforgettable experience and a great way to begin our tenth anniversary season.

"phantom of the opera"

Date:     October 15, 2022

Location: St. Andrew's United Church,
85 William Street South, Chatham ON

This concert takes a trip back in time to the 1920s during the height of the silent film era with the presentation of the 1925 silent film “Phantom of the Opera.” At a time when showings of silent films were almost always accompanied by live music, it is only fitting that we present tonight’s movie presentation with live organ accompaniment. Presented on St. Andrew’s historic 3-manual Casavant organ, we welcome Juno-award-winning organist Ian Sadler to the stage to bring us back to the 1920s for an evening to remember. This concert is co-sponsored by the Chatham Branch of the Royal Canadian College of Organists.

Suggested donation $15. All are welcome.

Music during the war was utilized in various ways. Be it signifying one’s culture, and bringing a little piece of their heritage with them, methods of coping due to the trauma and stress brought on by war, encouragement, or simply to tell their message to the world. In Flanders Fields will take us back to music during the Wartime Eras, as we come to the 150th anniversary of the birth of John McCrae, a Canadian soldier, surgeon and poet famous for
“In Flanders Fields”.
