SATURDAYS AT 7

Locations: Live: St. Andrew's United Church, 85 William Street South, Chatham ON

Virtual: Online via Facebook Live       (www.facebook.com/standrewschatham/live)

Composed of Nathan Bredeson, Alex Bougie and François Lacelle, The Ottawa Guitar Trio has made it their mission to highlight the accessibility and reliability of classical music to modern audiences. The ensemble explores the classical guitar’s unique dynamic and textural palette to bring to life a repertoire of dynamic movie soundtracks, nostalgic video game scores, timeless classical repertoire, as well as original music for the classical guitar.

Each of them prolific arrangers, the trio thrives in challenging themselves to authentically adapt a wide array of repertoire, be it originally for solo piano, chamber music, electronic compilations, or orchestral compositions. They also pride themselves in showcasing pieces by local as well as up-and-coming composers. Moreover, the ensemble looks forward to further contributing to the available repertoire for the guitar trio format in general through commissions and composition.

Making their debut in the summer of 2018, the trio has in their first season alone taken part in concert series for the Ottawa Chamberfest's Chamber Pints series, the Ottawa Guitar Society, the Guitar Alla Grande festival, and have performed in venues such as Rideau Hall, the Ontario Art Gallery, the Dominion Chalmers United, among others.
