OUTREACH

We at St. Andrew's United Church are proud of our Outreach program, both locally and globally.  Monthly projects suggested by the committee are given amazing support from the congregation! Local Salvation Army assistance includes Care Packages for the Homeless, Toy and Food drives at Christmas and the Red Kettle Campaign.  We address local and world hunger difficulties by supporting the Canadian Food Grains Bank, Chatham Outreach for Hunger and the Queen Elizabeth II School Breakfast program. Other charities receiving support include Kenesserie Camp, Habitat for Humanity, AIDS Support Chatham-Kent and the Chatham-Kent Women’s Center.  Also, in addition to regular givings, we pledge approximately $25,000 to the National Mission and Service Fund of The United Church of Canada.

If you have a passion for helping others the Outreach Committee is a great way to share your talents.

For more information please contact the Church Office.

BENEVOLENT FUND

The Benevolent Fund operates monthly including July and August. Food vouchers are issued and help in other areas is considered upon request.

Since start up in January 2007, St. Andrew’s members have generously supported this fund.  Our church doors are always open to those in need.

VAUC PANTRY PROGRAM

The Pantry program operates every Wednesday morning in the Games Room at St. Andrew’s.

Packaged portions of homemade soup (or salads in the summer months) as well as other pantry and toiletry items are available for anyone who may wish to visit the program.  This program is offered by Victoria Avenue United Church.
